Panhellenic Confederation of Unions of Agricultural Cooperatives (PASEGES)

Founded in 1935, PASEGES, a non-profit organization, is the highest professional and coordinating body of the Hellenic Agricultural Co-operative Movement and represents around 750.000 farmers, 6.350 Agricultural Co-operatives (1st level organizations) and 114 Unions of Agricultural Co-operatives (2nd level organizations).

Confronted with a continuously changing socio-economic environment, in which its members are operating, PASEGES formulates effective policies to meet the following:

  • Development and dissemination of the concept and practice of cooperation nation-wide.
  • Effective co-ordination of the economic and business activities of the Agricultural Cooperative Organizations both on national and international level.
  • Effective representation of the Agricultural Co-operative Organizations to third parties both in Greece and abroad.


Within the framework of these strategic objectives, PASEGES is engaged in the following areas of activities:

  • Plans the strategic development of the Greek Agricultural Co-operative Movement and oversees its implementation.
  • Studies the problems of the Co-operative Organizations and of their farmer members proposes solutions and assists the Co-operative Organizations in the development of their activities.
  • Offers the Co-operative Organizations advisory and consultancy services on the subject of cooperative and business organization and their operations.
  • Elaborates and implements the annual Agricultural Co-operative Training Program.
